DC COMICS: Gorilla Age of Comics.
Amo esta historia, aunque todos ya la conozcan. La abundancia impresionante de villanos gorilas en DC se debe nada más ni menos que a la gloriosa “Era Gorila”, como los editores de la época la llamaban.
Resulta que en uno de los cómics de historias fantásticas que tenía la Distinguida Competencia (Strange Adventures #8), colocaron en portada un cuento en donde un gorila, encerrado en el zoológico, le contaba al lector que era humano y que nadie lo sabía. Sin saber porqué, el número se vendió con fervor como pan caliente y por supuesto, luego de analizar que fue el peludo personaje el detonante, los jefazos trataron de replicar en otras revistas el mismo resultado.
Cuento corto: Flash, Superman, la Mujer Maravilla, Adam Strange, Batman y la gran galería de héroes DC se vieron colmados de simios de la más distinta envergadura, y cada vez que aparecían en portada, zuácate, la revista aumentaba sus ventas. Científicos fueron transformados, alienígenas gorilas fueron despertados, incluso Ciudades Gorilas tomaron posesión de las historias hasta el día de hoy.
Se inauguró (y se ha hecho más de una vez) el mes Gorila, en donde hasta los superhéroes se han transformado en apes, y como revisarán incluso ahora, una buena cantidad de enemigos de cada superhéroe lleva la marca del peludo personaje. Una tradición ya, pero no deja de ser curiosa…
